It’s been over a year since I’ve used this book and I remember not a single story. My advise to anyone considering using this book who is in the very early stages of their study would be to try the first few hundred kanji using free materals, time it out and then come up with a realistic calculation of how long the whole process will probably take for them, before investing in a purchase.
They are in what Heisig calls “imaginative memory” order; that is, you can’t expect the first to be the kanji with the fewest radicals.

And I have to say that in combination with my Japanese language course rememberimg my attempts in reading manga in Japanese, I’ve knji learned some of the readings without making tje of an effort, so that helps, too. This is a wicked book on how to remember Kanji! I mainly checked it out because I found the concept fascinating and wanted to give it a try, but in the end the way of learning that this book teaches you is not compatible with my own mental way of categorizing what I learn; in a sense, I would have had to un-learn everything I already knew to begin with, and since this book only teaches you to recognise meaning and not to “read” – that is, not to be able This book was recommended to me years ago by a French lecturer at my university in Japan.
By the way, look carefully: After I’ve gone through Heisig, I can see that Kanjis are actually made up of parts, written with specific strokes. East Dane Designer Men’s Fashion. If you don’t have enough free time to finish the Heisig method fast, you end up studying kanjis for months and your only skill is spotting them while reading Japanese texts but being unable to do anything else beyond vaguely knowing their meaning ,no reading or studying grammar is possible while studying Heisig.
Also, the words used to describe various kanji are slightly different in this book than what I’ve seen in WaniKani, so I have a feeling that trying to focus on both might mess me up.

There is no gratification in this and d is very frustrating because you have the feeling of not moving forward at all. After 4 months of studying Kanji characters every day, I can easily say that coming across this book has heizig one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
I know that is not the idea of the book, but as a Japanese learner, having them will help a little more, from my point of view.

By ordering the kanji ghe to their component parts or “primitive elements,” and then assigning each of these parts a distinct meaning with its own distinct image, the student is led to reemmbering the powers of “imaginative memory” to learn the various combinations that make up the kanji.
