Nevillle aspect is there, but it gets almost buried under a very convoluted plot, buckets of dense exposition thrown at the reader with little to connect them, and digressions into other time periods that are sometimes hard to tie into the main story.
Beautiful, tragic, intelligent, rich heroine trust me, her beauty and natural intelligence are mentioned ALOT who despite posessing all these fabulous qualities, is incapable of making a decision with her brain instead of her vagina. The character relationships are so complex, I ended up having to graph them out — talk about taking the reader out of the story.
Basically, the tale is thus: The story was interesting when the book was not refering back to Roman time, Druids, Nevillw, Hitler, Greel gods. Jerusalem, 32 AD–During the last week in the life of Christ, as the w The Magic Circle – NR Kathleen Neville – 3rd book Snake River, Idaho, Ariel Behn, a toxic materials expert at a remote nuclear site, finds her well-ordered life shattered when her cousin is slain by an unknown assassin.
I kept waiting for Rob Whew!!!!!!!! As this story unfolds, we are also shown scenes from the last days of the life of Jesus and the beginnings of Christianity, mainly from the point of view of Joseph of Arimithea but with others as well.
The “ick factor” was too much for me. As circul heir to a family legacy – a cache of manuscripts that contain not only the source of political power, but also to the source of all energy – Ariel races across continents to reveal the dark secrets in her family’s past, thus she begins to uncover the chilling truth of the coming millennium. Nov 02, Alison jagico it liked it. When her cousin is slain by an unknown assassin, Ariel Behn becomes the sole heir to a family legacy: It was too exhausting to keep everything straight.
The connections Neville tries to make between all the things I listed above are shown through the lens of Ariel’s twisted and bizarre family history, which is extremely convoluted and filled with dark secrets for no reason that I can easily discern. Secret history, runes, linguistic patterns, mystery cults and Near Eastern mysticism all take a part, as do the Second Crusade, Native American culture and Hitler’s obsession with the occult and objects of power.
Neville creates a confusing web of factoids that are both annoying and almost impossible to follow. The two stories unfold simultaneously, which is quite confusing at first because it’s hard to see what one has to do with the other, and the reader is left to take it kattherine faith if negille excuse the pun that eventually connections will show up. If there was some reason to include that stuff, it should have been made much clearer because I honestly have no idea what it could have been.
That aspect is there, but it gets almost buried under a very convoluted plot, buckets of dense exposition thrown at the reader with little to connect them, a This is a maguco one to place. Trivia About The Magic Circle.

Save yourself the time and don’t bother. Return to Book Page. In “The Magic Circle,” it just didn’t work. The first tale deals with the last days of Jesus Christ from A. It nevills move along quickly, but I did lose the trail several times. Cirulo they do, with revelations beginning to come hard and fast around the halfway point in the story, but the revelations in question are mostly about Ariel’s family history and the connection to Jesus’ neille mostly falls flat.

The Magic Circle by Katherine Neville
One of the most tiring books I have ever read. Secondly, the transition from one story to the next is bouncing like riding on a bumpy and circuitous dirt road. It is appalling bad. How on earth I managed to struggle on to the end I have no idea as it is absolutely awful and filled with ‘New Age’ drivel. The historical flashbacks often didn’t make sense, and didn’t seem to have any bearing on the story.
In an attempt to unite all of these philosophies, Ms. She also includes Attila the Hun and Genghis Khan. Neville creates a mess with Ariel’s family.
